Deuteronomy 6:5-9:
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
WOW! What a charge from God's word to you as parents! God has given you the primary responsibility to teach, talk, and demonstrate to your sons and daughters what we know in the New Testament as the Greatest Commandment. While this incredible task sometimes seems overwhelming I wanted to let you know that the Bethel Student Ministry wants to come along side of you and assist you in this discipleship process. We want you to know that ...
We care about your son/daughter - the adult leaders who are working in our student ministries have two things in common. They love God and they love our students. Our men and women leaders really enjoy being around students and have a passion to see them grow in their relationship with Christ.
We care about you - many of our volunteers are parents themselves and understand the incredible responsibility you face every day as a parent. For those of us who are not yet parents, we see how hard it is for you to raise your children in this busy and crazy world. We are committed to bend over backwards to assist you in any way we can. I can tell you that not a day goes by that we do not pray for you as a parent. If there is anything you need please let us know. That includes babysitting your kids if you and your husband need a break!
We care about your family - we don't want a ministry to your son/daughter, we want a ministry with your family. We want to help your family succeed. Our goal is to create a partnership between our ministry in the church body and your family. We desire to lock arms and work together to honor God in all that we do.
